What this page covers
Section titled “What this page covers”This checklist helps a new employer team move from first access to daily operations without missing the most important setup work.
Week-one priorities
Section titled “Week-one priorities”- Confirm who needs access to the employer portal and who only needs the employee-facing flow.
- Review employer and organisation settings, including company details, contacts, bank accounts, and payroll-related configuration.
- Add or review users and roles so the right people can manage planning, payroll, and settings.
- Check employee records, contracts, and supporting documents.
- Configure planning basics such as teams, tasks, locations, events, occupancy templates, checklist templates, and planning rules.
- Make sure kiosk devices are activated if employees will clock in and out on-site.
- Review the payroll and documents areas so the finance team knows where to find periods, accountancy views, reports, and shipment documents.
- Treat settings and permissions as the foundation. Most confusion later comes from incomplete setup or mismatched access.
- If you run several locations, align your planning locations, events, and occupancy templates before publishing your first schedule.
- Walk through one real day from planning to time entry to payroll review before onboarding a larger team.
